Flare Gas Recovery Unit
The Flare Gas Recovery Unit (FGRU) is designed in order to reduce the plant fuel, steam consumption and continuous flare operation. With this unit, repurpose gasses and emissions such as Hydrogen, Methane and Olefines (that would normally be burned during the flaring process) will be recovered. The process involves the compression of the gas coming from the knock-out drum using liquid ring compressors and then its treatment. Gas treatment may be performed by means of Cryogenic Process, Adsorption or Membrane Separation. The associated gas or liquid (useless) is normally diverted to flare knock-out drum and the recovered gas or liquid can be returned to the process.
